As rolling mills and foundries, Aluminium Dunkerque’s customers supply the most dynamic markets in the automotive, packaging and industrial products sectors. We regularly work with them to develop new alloys to meet the increasingly sophisticated needs of their customers in markets that are constantly evolving.
We are attentive to their technical needs to find the most innovating solutions, and we also support them on the road to decarbonisation. Most of our raw materials arrive mainly by ship, and more than half of our production is shipped by rail, the least carbon-intensive mode of transport.

High added value products
Three times lighter than steel or copper, aluminium considerably reduces product weight, especially the weight of vehicles, making them more energy-efficient. For processed food manufacturers, it contributes to transport payload savings.
Aluminium is 100% recyclable without any loss of its properties. Its recycling requires only 5% of the energy used to produce it as a primary metal and is perfectly in line with the development of a low-carbon circular economy.
With its good conductivity, aluminium is a material of choice for replacing copper in applications where its thermal and electrical conductivity play a major role: collectors in batteries, busbars, heat exchangers, radiators, etc.
Its strength combined with its leak tightness and fireproofing properties guarantees that vehicle batteries and chassis are protected in the event of an accident, and promotes their durability. When it comes to food packaging, it provides a solid, leak tight envelope that releases neither odour nor taste, and makes stacking easier.
Malleable, it can be worked at low temperatures and shaped without breaking, making it possible to give it a wide variety of shapes.
